Terms of service
Effective
These terms are the agreement between you and Altafinity, which runs AmmoFans. Creating an account agrees to them and to the privacy policy, and using AmmoFans keeps agreeing to them. Questions go to [email protected].
What AmmoFans is
AmmoFans connects shooters. You keep a journal of your practice, run and write drills, add events and say whether you are going, name the venues you shoot at, follow other shooters, and message them. AmmoFans is not a range, an instructor, a seller, or a registrar: it is where shooters find each other and keep track of what they did.
Your account
You must be at least 13, and old enough to hold an account where you live. You are responsible for your account and for everything done with it. Keep your password to yourself, and tell [email protected] if you think someone else has used it.
Your username is yours for as long as you hold it. Some names are kept back because a part of AmmoFans stands at them, and when a new part needs a name somebody holds, that member is asked to choose another. If you change your username, the old one is available to anyone at once, and links to it stop working.
What you share
What you write, log, and upload stays yours. By sharing it you let AmmoFans keep it and show it to the audience you chose for it. A drill or an event you make public is shown to people without an account and to search engines because it is public; your profile is shown to them only where you allow. Three kinds of thing carry a little more, because other members build on them:
- A drill you share may be adapted by anyone who can see it. Adapting copies what you wrote into a variation of their own, which names your drill as its source, and which later changes to yours never reach. A drill you make public may also be read by AI tools, including to train them.
- A venue you make public may be used for their own events by any member you and they have not blocked. A venue that events name is never deleted: you can retire it, and it is then offered to nobody new and still read by everything that names it.
- An event you add may be added by others to their own calendar, and saying you are going to one tells the shooters who follow you. It books nothing and binds nobody: registration, fees, and admission stay with whoever runs the event.
Share nothing you have no right to share, and nothing that threatens, harasses, or impersonates anyone, that deceives, that is unlawful, that shows a firearm handled unsafely, or that is not real. Nothing on AmmoFans may offer a firearm, ammunition, or a transfer of either for sale.
What other members share is theirs. Read it as AmmoFans shows it to you, and take it nowhere else without their say.
Messages
A message you send is the recipient's as much as yours. You can edit one within fifteen minutes of sending it, and unsend one at any time; unsending leaves a line where it was, and the message can still be reported by anyone it reached.
Firearm safety and the law
AmmoFans is a place to find training and to record practice, not a substitute for either. Follow the rules of every range and every instructor, and the law wherever you shoot. A drill that came from a published source is described from it and names the source its author gave; a drill a member wrote is theirs to describe. Whether you may run one where you are is yours to know. Nothing on AmmoFans is legal advice.
Reports and moderation
A member can report an event, a comment, a drill, a journal entry, a run, or a message they can see, and any profile, though never their own, once per thing, and every report is reviewed. Who reported something is never published and never told to the member it is about. Something that breaks these terms may be taken down, which does to it what its owner could have done: an event is canceled and still reads as canceled to the members it admitted, a message leaves a line where it was, and a comment, a drill, an entry, or a run is shown to nobody again. The record of the report keeps what was taken down. AmmoFans may close an account that breaks these terms.
Ending your account
You can close your account at any time from your settings, with your password. What is deleted, and what outlives the account because it is other people's too, is what the privacy policy says.
What AmmoFans does not promise
AmmoFans is offered as it is. It may change, and a part of it may be taken away, without notice. Nothing on it is checked before it is shown: a member, an event, a venue, or a drill is as its member described it, and whether to trust it, go to it, or run it is your decision. To the extent the law allows, Altafinity is not liable for what you do with AmmoFans, for what another member does, or for AmmoFans being unavailable or wrong, and its liability to you is limited to what you paid for AmmoFans in the year before the claim.
These terms are governed by the law of the United States and of the state where Altafinity is registered. If a part of them cannot be enforced, the rest still holds.
Changes to these terms
When these terms change, the date at the top changes with them, and the day you agreed to them is recorded on your account. Using AmmoFans after that date is agreement to the new terms. What changed is said here.
- October 4, 2026: a public drill or event is shown to people without an account and to search engines, and a public drill may also be read by AI tools, including to train them.
- September 27, 2026: the terms were rewritten to say in full what sharing grants, what may not be shared, how reports and moderation work, and what AmmoFans does not promise.
- September 20, 2026: first published.
